Interstate 95

From the north:
Connect to I-91 North in New Haven; take Exit 3 (Trumbull Street) and follow directions below for I-91.
From the south:
Connect to I-91 North in New Haven (left exit); take Exit 3 (Trumbull Street) and follow directions below for I-91.

Interstate 91

From the north (Bradley Int’l Airport) or south:
Take Exit 3 (Trumbull Street). Stay in the middle lane and continue straight onto Trumbull Street to the fourth traffic light. Turn left onto Prospect Street. At the first light, Prospect Street becomes College Street. Park in this vicinity for the Beinecke Library, which is located to your right off of Wall Street.  For Linsly-Chittenden Hall, instead continue on College Street to the second of the next two traffic lights you come to, passing the Green on your left.  Turn right at the light at the bottom of the Green onto Chapel Street. Go one block and turn right onto High Street.  Linsly-Chittenden Hall is on the right side of the street.

Route 15 (Wilbur Cross/Merritt Parkways)

From the north:
Take Exit 61. Drive south on Whitney Avenue for approximately five miles. Turn right on Sachem Street at the Peabody Museum traffic light. Continue to the next traffic light and turn left onto Prospect Street. At the second traffic light, Prospect Street becomes College Street. Park in this vicinity for the Beinecke Library, which is located to your right off of Wall Street.  For Linsly-Chittenden Hall, instead continue on College Street to the second of the next two traffic lights you come to, passing the Green on your left.  Turn right at the light at the bottom of the Green onto Chapel Street. Go one block and turn right onto High Street.  Linsly-Chittenden Hall is on the right side of the street.
From the south:
Take Exit 57. Drive east on Route 34 (Derby Avenue) for approximately 5 miles past the Yale Athletic Fields. Turn left onto Route 10 North, Ella T. Grasso Boulevard. Proceed to the fifth traffic light and turn right onto Whalley Avenue. Whalley becomes Broadway in 1 mile, and Broadway becomes Elm Street in another 0.2 miles. Continue on Elm for 2 blocks. For the Beinecke Library, turn left onto College Street and find parking in the vicinity of the first intersection: Wall Street.  For Linsly-Chittenden Hall instead, turn right onto College Street. Pass the Green on your left.  Turn right at light at the bottom of the Green onto Chapel Street. Go one block and turn right onto High Street.  Linsly-Chittenden Hall is on the right side of the street.

Route 34

From the west: Follow directions from Route 15 above.

 

Rail

New Haven’ Union Station (50 Union Avenue) is a five-minute taxi ride from campus.  It is served by Metro-North Railroad, for which you can access schedules and purchase tickets at: http://mta.info/.

 

Air

Tweed New Haven Regional Airport is 10 minutes from the Yale campus by car or taxi.  U.S. Airways offers daily flights between New Haven and Philadelphia.
Bradley International Airport (BDL), just north of Hartford, is the closest major airport to New Haven (ca. 50 miles). Most major domestic and international carriers fly into Bradley.  For ground transportation to New Haven, try Connecticut Limo: http://www.ctlimo.com.
There is frequent limousine service from other major New York City area airports.

 

Parking
Street Parking: Metered parking is available throughout the downtown and campus area.  The maximum meter time in most cases is 1-2 hours up until 7pm. Parking is free at meters on Sundays.
Commercial Lots:  The nearest commercial parking lots for the conference are: Chapel-York Garage (150 York Street), Broadway Parking Lot (Broadway and Elm Street), and Grove Street Garage (65 Grove Street).
Yale Lots:  Conference attendees may park for free in any of the Yale Parking Services lots from 4pm Friday afternoon until 7am Monday morning. These lots are open to the public during non-business hours and you will not need a permit. The closest lot for the conference is accessed from Temple Street, between Wall Street and Elm Street.

The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library (BRBL) is located at 121 Wall Street, between High and College Streets.
Linsly-Chittenden Hall (LC) is located at 63 High Street, between Chapel and Elm Streets.
The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library and Linsly-Chittenden Hall are located only a few minutes walk (0.3 miles) apart down High Street.
